The Desiree behind the Macrame

Always a crafter by nature, I found my favorite artistic medium when I learned to macrame in 2018. An interest in creating plant hangers for my in-home jungle in Seattle, WA became a passion for designing macrame jewelry, garlands, accessories, embellished jackets - and more plant hangers!

In 2019, I brought my macrame earrings into the world with an Instagram account (@marigoldenmacrame), and later with an Etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/MarigoldenMacrame). I also had the privilege of bringing my art on the road while tour managing my Seattle friends' neo-psych band around the southwest!

In 2020, I spent basically all of the year at home macrameing (which was a great #quarentineactivity) and developed my signature "Daisy Chain" style - turning it into plant hangers, garlands, and headbands - along with creating other new designs.

In 2021, I started teaching online macrame classes through Pratt Fine Arts Center, launched a virtual macrame shopping experience through Amazon Explore, created a tik tok, tried my hand at setting up booths in art markets in San Francisco, Austin, and Seattle, and was overjoyed to see my work for sale in the cutest boho shop in Seattle (September, in Ballard).

In January of 2022, I displayed my work at Zoka Coffee in Greenlake, Seattle. And this is also the year that I FINALLY launched this site!

I’ve been taking it slow in 2023, experimenting with other art forms as well as trying to improve on some of my current macrame designs. I was proud to have my Daisy Chain collection up for 6 weeks at Cafe Lulu in Greenlake this spring.

Thanks for stopping by!
